Playlists: Organizing Your Shoppable Video Content

This section explains how to group your videos into flexible collections (Playlists) that can be easily displayed across your website or app. Playlists are the core content unit for Shoppable Video for Superscale, allowing you to manage large libraries and ensure the right videos show up in the right place.

Getting Started: Creating a New Playlist

1. Navigate to Playlists: In the BamHub left-hand menu, navigate to the Shoppable Video section and select Playlists.
2. Start a New Playlist: Click the + New button located in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Name Your Playlist: Give your playlist a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Homepage New Arrivals," “Category Page Best Sellers”). This name is for internal reference only.

Adding Videos to Your Playlist

You can add videos to a playlist using one of two methods, or a combination of both: Rules (for dynamic, large-scale content) or Manual Selection (for curated, specific content).

1. Adding Videos by Rule (Recommended for Superscale)

The Rules feature is a powerful search and filtering tool that dynamically includes videos based on the criteria you set.

1. Activate Rules: Click the Add videos by rule button.
2. Define Your Rule: A rule requires three components: a Field, a Condition, and a Value.

• Field: This is the criteria you want to search by. Currently available Fields include:
  • Title: The video's file name or uploaded title.
  • Created At: The date the video was uploaded.
  • Tags: Any user-defined tags connected to the video.
• Condition: This defines how exact the search should be (e.g., Equals, Contains Any, Before).
• Value: This is where you write or select the specific search term (e.g., "summer-collection" for a Tag, or "2025-11-01" for a Date Field).

3. Refining with Multiple Rules (The AND Logic):

• When you add multiple rules, they work together using an AND logic. This means a video must satisfy every single rule to be included in the playlist.
• Strategy: Start with a broad rule to select a large set of videos (e.g., Tag Contains Any "LiveShow"). Then, add a second rule to filter down to the most relevant videos (e.g., Created At and choose a date span). Use this filtering strategy to build highly specific, dynamic content collections.

2. Adding Videos Manually

Use manual selection to add specific videos to the playlist regardless of their rules or metadata.

1. Select Manual Add: Click the Add videos button located in the top-right corner.
2. Search and Select: Use the search bar to find the videos you want to include, check the box next to them, and click Add.

Combining Rules and Manually

You can combine Rules and Manual Selection within the same playlist. The playlist will contain all videos that satisfy the rules plus any videos you manually added.

Finalizing Your Playlist

When you are satisfied with the videos included in your playlist, click Create. Your playlist is now saved and ready to be used.
